My filmography  

Apart from the productions and projects listed below, i have shot over 100 animation and special effects sequences during the 90's under my company name  Marvels Special Effects, for TV commercials, feature films, company videos, childrens TV,  music videos ... et cetera...  

I have specialized in visual and optical film effects, ranging from cloud tanks to go-motion rigs, stopmotion and cel animation, matte shoots - you name it!

I have consulted and trained filmmakers worldwide, on the use of special effects automation between 1991 and 2001.  

I have filmed and/or produced and/or directed numerous music videos, tv-commercials, company movies, and also feature films.

I  worked  as  cameraman  for  Steven  Spielberg's  Survivors  Of  The  Shoah.  
From  1995  through  1997  i  shot  over  40  interviews  with  Jewish  Holocaust  survivors
in Belgium and the Netherlands.
 
The  Survivors  of  the  Shoah  Visual  History  Foundation,  or  simply  Shoah  Foundation,  was  
established  by  Steven  Spielberg  in  1994,  one  year  after  completing  the  Academy  Award-winning  film  "Schindler's  List".  The  original  aim  of  the  Foundation  was  to  record  testimonies  
of  all  of  the  remaining  survivors  of  the  Holocaust  (Shoah),  as  a  collection  of  
videotaped  interviews
.

As  a  prelude  to  the  actual  filming,  i  shot  over  400  35mm.  and  70mm.  stills  at  the  Auschwitz
concentrationcamp  and  the  Auschwitz  Birkenau  massdestruction  camp,  both  in  Poland.  
These  stills  were  used  in  preproduction  to  aid  set  buiding  and  production  design.  
Assistant to  the  stills  photographer  for  the  location  manager.

Cut to the music of a classical piece by a Dutch composer, this short movie was filmed on the Dutch island of Schiermonnikoog (do not try to pronounce!).

A nature film featuring geese, geese, ducks and geese... ;-) Oh yeah, and one seal.

I  shot  12  music  videos  for  MTV/TMF/SuperChannel  from  1990  through  1995.  
Artists  include  24/7  (Twentyfourseven),  MCFixxit,  Captain  Hollywood  Project  and  others.  
All  shot  on  a  mix  of  35  mil  and  16  mil  colour  and  b/w  stock.  
Scanned  and  editted  on  1  inch  video.

During my internship at Meddings Magic (Shepperton Studios) (special effects cinematography), i spent a week on the set of this movie at Shepperton, helping out the effects crew - schlepping cameras, tracks  and dollies around.

During my internship at Meddings Magic (Shepperton Studios) (special effects cinematography), i was involved in constructing motion control rigs (go-motion) and shooting matte paintings.  I  was given the time and opportunity to experiment with stepper motors and  developing  accelleration smoothing algorithms ("fairings") for the  computer software.  The movie  starring top actors Daryl Hannah, Peter o'Tool and Steve Guttenberg.    
During that time Derek Meddings was still alive - what a guy... I feel lucky being one of his pupils!

I  shot something between 10 and 20 company videos andcommercials for a range of Philips services and products. Some where shot on film, others on video. Some high-budget productions were post-produced in England. I did all the editing except for one.

I was assistant to the assistant's assitant ;-) A wonderful 2-month experience while learning the ins-and-outs of commercial film production and 35 mil. productioncamera operation. I feel honoured to have met Mr. Spielberg oon two occasions and being able to watch him at work.

Again, as an assistant to the camera assistant's assistant... I spent a week running around the beautiful Willow set in Elstree studios, UK - running errants for the camera assistant(s). Part of my internship at Lucasfilm, learning the ropes of special effects cinematography.

My first  apprenticeship in the English film industry (Elstree Studios), my first encounter with professional film production and  my first meeting with  special effects designer Derek Meddings.
On this  occasion,  i was involved with re-recording of the Superman soundtrack (at which stage the actors dub their voices  in a studio).  In that time,  multitrack recording consisted of large arrays  of mechanically coupled sprocket machines. The whole array (one machine per 2 tracks) ran in (mechanical-) sync with the projector.  I was thrilled to meet Gene Hackman and Christopher Reeve in real life..!
